The Louisville Energy Alliance is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation promoting energy efficiency through Energy Star in commercial buildings in Louisville.  We assist commercial building owners and managers by providing important resources in energy efficiency.

Louisville Metro Government has been an ENERGY STAR partner since 2007. The LEA partnership works closely with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s program , ENERGY STAR, to reduce energy consumption in commercial buildings through 3 primary initiatives: 

• The Kilowatt Crackdown

  This annual competition between building owners and operators promotes energy efficiency awareness and rewards businesses with the most efficient buildings and businesses with the greatest energy improvements.  (click here to learn more)
  

  "In our efforts to improve the environment in Jefferson County and to be good stewards of our resources, each of the 168 facilities in the Jefferson County Public School District was entered in the Kilowatt Crackdown competition for 2010. • Annual Commercial Energy Efficiency Expo

  The Louisville Energy Alliance Commercial Energy Efficiency Expo helps businesses learn more about the practices and products that are available to help improve energy efficiency. This year’s expo will take place on October 11, 2012 at the Louisville Convention Center.

• Partnership with ENERGY STAR

  The Louisville Energy Alliance has partnered with the federal government’s ENERGY STAR program to help provide an abundance of tools and information to help businesses drive down their energy usage.

The Louisville Energy Alliance is proud of the progress that Louisville businesses have made over the past two years. Currently, 35 Louisville buildings have earned the federal government’s ENERGY STAR efficiency rating. This extraordinary effort has not only saved Louisville businesses millions of dollars in energy expenses, it has also helped position Louisville as an environmentally friendly place to live and work.
